in the US there is NO definition of full-time or part-time in employment law. these are terms used by employers usually for the purposes of determining eligibility for benefits.... many employers set there requirements for full-time at 35 or more hours per week, so for them anything less then 35 hours a week is part-time. in most states (not all) overtime is hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week.
