Why wont facebook work on my laptop ?

I just bought a new hp laptop about three weeks ago and it works fine , but for the past two days when i try to use facebook it wont work correctly,the page loads all the way and looks fine but if i try to click on notifications or messages they wont drop down, or if i click on more stories it wont work, or the search bar,and also the chat section loads weird also. what could be wrong ? (also i use google chrome,but when i just logged in on internet explorer everything worked fine) it this common when using google chrome because i do use it as my primary internet browser
