Why do I overanalyze things?

Do guys overanalyze Facebook?

• I'm kind of in a sticky situation-girls AND guys, I need your help please! I've fallen really hard for my best friend, and I'm trying to figure out if he likes me as well. Our relationship has gotten pretty intense lately- he's always asking me if I have a boyfriend, he's used the "hypothetically speaking, if you and I were dating...." example, he writes "love you" and leaves hearts on pictures, etc. We've been messaging on Facebook back and forth since I'm away right now, and I was wondering if guys get sensitive about time lapses on responses and that kind of stuff. I had a test and couldn't get back to him for a few days, and I don't know if a delayed response is something that guys might take the wrong way, like I'm ignoring him or something. Help me out, guys! Do you all overanalyze the response time to messages on FB if it's someone you care about? Do you try to read between the lines if we use emoticons or vaguely romantic comments? And...do you think my best friend is interested in me? We do have points where things/conversations get pretty intense, and then it cools off for a bit...if a guy likes a girl, is this normal? What do you all think I should do? I don't want to lose an incredible friendship if he doesn't feel the same way, but I've kept this to myself for awhile now and I think we would be losing something equally amazing if we don't try dating....

  Im a guy and 99% of us literally just think with our penis :L If he says he loves you, He does.. I dont know any guys that would leave hearts and say they love a girl when they are just messing about he clearly likes you especially if he is talking about what would happen if you were dating. Go for it, he is interested... Also yes, usually if imtalking to a girl and I get a delayed response loads I wonder whether she is interested
