THANKS A LOT The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet In the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare both Romeo and Juliet suffer from unfortunate events. These events occur for several reasons such as fate and the choices Romeo and Juliet make. Fate plays a great role in the play and affects the actions in the play. For example, Romeo and Juliet are from feuding families which causes Romeo and Juliet to sneak around and keep the marriage a secret. Also, things did not work out with Romeo and Rosaline, if they would of Romeo might have never fallen in love with Juliet which would prevent deaths. A final example of fate would be that friar Lawrence didn’t make it to the tomb on time; if he would have been there sooner he could have told Romeo of the plan keeping the two lovers alive. As much as fate alters the course of the play Romeo’s actions are to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. For example, although Romeo had his dream that going to the party will lead to his death he decided to go anyways. Also when Tybalt killed Mercutio Romeo had the chance to let him go but he fought for Mercutio which caused the prince to banish him. Another example of Romeos actions that lead to his and his wife’s death is Romeo bought poison to kill himself out of his own free will which caused Juliet to kill herself upon awaking. He should have stopped the family fued when the first fight started. But he waited, this caused the Capulets, Montaque, and the Prince lives. The Nurse could have stopped Juliet from marrying Romeo in the first place, but she didn't. She is also to balme. Mercutio is to blame as well. If he hadn't provoked Tybalt, then Romeo would not be banished. "The tradegy of Romeo and Juliet" is a very sad story. The actions of many peopled led to Romeo and Juliet's death.
