How do you heal a sprained ankle really fast?

How to heal a sprained ankle in one day..please help me I need to go school tomorrow?

  • Hi! Today in PE I sprained my ankle in an exercise. It is too painful to even walk properly with it.I need to go to school tomorrow and I catch 2 buses and walk a lot/cross many roads and be around school.....by the way I have a half day as we are breaking up for half term. Please don't say miss school or use the RICE method (I have tried it and not helping so fast..will take time) thanks for the advice though! I really want to go as I don't want to ruin my attendance as its starting to get low already! Please tell me any way to heal my ankle/stop the pain which would help/make me walk normally and not limp or hold on to things to walk.:)

If you want an immediate fix the only thing you can do is get your ankle taped or a brace. This obviously wont heal the ankle but it will make it easier to walk on. To help heal it ice it for 20 mins for 3 times each day. Make sure you are walking around not sitting down all day. Moving around will help the blood flow to your ankle which will help it heal faster. Also if you walk on it enough you will get more used to the pain and it wont hurt as bad to walk. You can also massage the area which will increase blood flow. Finally take ibuprofen or tylenol 3 to 4 times daily to help reduce inflammation.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before. So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore. Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain. Icing the ankle and taking ibuprofen is bad. Inflammation is from blood going to the spot to help heal it by taking ibuprofen or icing it it will prolong the healing
