Recommended acting agencies in london?
-
i am a 20 yr old female and ive always been interested in acting. i have 4 years acting experience from 1 drama school and 2 theatre schools. Also when i was in primary school i was always chosen to be in school plays without having to even audition...i even got picked to play a male role once as they wanted me in it so much and they had given the only female role to an older girl. i knew a guy when i was at school who was also interested in acting and he said we should go to this acting place but we never got round to it. i drifted away from acting but i knew that he continued to pursue it and a few days ago i saw him on a bbc programme as the lead role!...hes also been in other bbc programmes as minor roles and was in a film last year as the lead role. i know what agency hes with but its extremely hard to get accepted as they have alot of applications just wondering if anyone knows any agencies? i would love to start acting again..thanks

Answer:
In the UK it's virtually impossible to get an agent unless you've graduated from a top drama school or university. They won't even look at a CV unless you have. They get hundreds of applications every month, and when they have a rare vacancy, they reject anyone who hasn't been to drama school - and I mean the degree-level ones. Now you're 20, stuff you did in school is of no interest to anyone - agents and casting directors look at what you've done in the past 2 or 3 years at most. Your best bet would be to try for a place at a top drama school - but it's hard to get in. Each school gets about 4,000 applications for only 24 places every year. At the very least you'd have to have a CV showing years of training at some sort of good acting school in the past few years, and dozens of plays and films you've been in as well - again, very recently. Good luck!
