How can you tell if a college scholarship is legitimate?

I want to move in with my boyfriend & go to a community college but stay in town..How do i tell them?

• I don't mean to sound like every other 17 year old girl on here who wants to move in with her boyfriend & preach about how I know he's the one blah blah blah. I'm just jumping to the point.... We want to move in together after we graduate high school & neither I or my family have the money to pay for me to go to a university, unless I got a scholarship. I have the grades & I probably could get some sort of scholarship but that's not exactly what I had in mind.. I want to be a nurse but I figured it would be much easier if I just went to a community college (literally right down the road) for the first 2 years of college.. My boyfriend's family wants him to move out and have experiences in the real world. However, my family wants me to stay at home with them for two more years. The only reason I would want to stay at home is if they threaten to not help me pay for college.. which my mom has already said she would do if she didn't agree with my decision. So how do I tell them that I do want to stay in town & go to community college, but that I want to move in with my boyfriend & not be held back by them. (They do love my boyfriend, but they are uptight, strict parents so i'm scared) They have sheltered me my entire life & I just don't want to go through college with them STILL trying to hide the world from me. I do have a job & i'm in a pharmacy tech class so I can make more money in college. I really want them on my side though.

  when ur old enough u just do it and u don't need to ask permission. on the other hand u should talk it over with an unbiased person so u can see things more objectively and decide if that is the right thing for u to do.
