Can a gas repeater airsoft gun use CO2 instead of green gas?

I am new to airsoft, so I picked out the HFC Heavy 1911 Gas Repeater Pistol from Airsoft Megastore. My friend can give me some CO2 canisters and I want to use them however I am not sure if they are compatible with a gas repeater pistol.
