Can my parents drop me out of high school?

Can I drop out of school at 15 with my permission of my parents?

  • I know dropping out is bad but it's really hard for me to keep up with school work and am one those loner kids so my school life is really lame. But it ok I already have enough friends outside school. My plan is just get my GED like other highschool drop out but I am going to start working on it after summer because I just want to work with my dad and have fun for now. When I get my GED and turn 18 me and my friend made a commitment to move out to get in a apartment but that just the basic of what am going to do I'll think it deeper later in the years. Right now am just trying to find on the Internet on what I have to do to drop out so I can start doing my thing. Thank you for reading.

I can't answer yur question but I can say don't listen to the people who say yur life will suck if yu drop out. If yu go to college still yu can get just as good of a job as someone with a diploma. Yu can still succeed with a GED. Just don't give up.

The future comes faster than you think. NOW is the time to think about it-- not later. Dropping out and "just getting your GED" is not a good idea, especially since you're only doing it to be lazy. It looks bad on future resumes. How do you ever expect to move on with your life and go anywhere? You'll only be hired for the most minimalist wage jobs working hard for next to nothing. You'll be in a rut for the rest of your life and die unaccomplished. I know it sounds melodramatic but it's true. The future will catch up with you way too quickly. Put a little effort into your life now and reach your potential!

DO NOT DROP OUT. Don't. It will be the biggest mistake of your life, promise. Just stick it out a couple more years, and the jet off. If its your particular school, transfer. Talk to your parents about it, too. Just remember to leave them your stardust to remember you by.

Depends on the laws where you live. Probably not until you are sixteen.

Just call the school an ask, they can't hold it against you. An if your dad approves of your idea have him call. Each state has different laws. Where I am age is 16 yrs. old.

In illinois you have to be 16 to drop out even with parents permission ... But my friend dropped out and got her ged and now shes in college taking classes at 16 so she'll be done by the time shes 18 its pretty cool.
