what to do with fraction as index number?

Which is the proper way to type the number 6? Which index finger do you use?

• i was wondering im learning how to type at this website called http://www.typingweb.com/tutor/lesson/index/id/330/ if you do the lesson Intermediate Numbers you could see that the bottom layout shows you to press the number 6 with your LEFT INDEX finger and NOT your right. I was wondering why is that? are they wrong also I saw this keyboard at best buy and it had the number 6 on the left instead of the right link: http://i42.tinypic.com/20fahjd.jpg I uploaded it so you could see what I mean but i noticed that the number 6 is perfectly symmetrical in the middle between the letters "T" and "Y" link: http://i40.tinypic.com/2crok1z.jpg where both left and right index fingers can reach it. Why is that? does it really matter? or is it just if your left handed or right handed? Thank you I'm a beginner typist so I want to learn the right way :)

  On my keyboard the 6 is just slightly closer to the left finger. I do use the left finger although I don't type lots of digits and so I tend to look, unlike what I do with letters. Btw, I took typing class many years ago: before 1971. Manual typewriters. Although the classes are hard to find, they are now called 'keyboarding'....really!
