How do I get "you have mail" to show up on my screen?

Can I get texts to show up on my screen when I get one on my droid charge?

  • I just got the droid charge! And I was wondering, is there any way I can get my texts to show up on my screen when I recieve one. Cause now when I get one, it just says "DROID" and nothing lights up. If you have an Iphone, or Ipod touch, you know how whenever you get an e-mail or something it shows up on your screen? Can I do that for my droid but with my text messages? Because when my phone is on silent, I HATE not know if I got a text or not....

  • Answer:

You can do that if you use the Handcent SMS app, it's free. If you install it (or any other texting app), make sure you turn off notifications in the original texting app, otherwise you'll get double notifications.

Hm weird. On my droid at the top you can slide it down and it will show your texts or anything. Even on silent. Maybe go to settings and just mess with it for a bit until you find it.
