My iPod touch will not turn on, charge or sync?

Just try leaving it charged over night or try using a different cable. From experience, I have learned, it's not always the iPod. It's possible, it's the cable. Try using a different cable. If not, take it to the apple store and see what they can do if you think your 3G is worth saving.

i love the touch too and have had some quirky things with mine. i would say NOT to sync or dock it in anything other than the factory usb to your computer, either mac or windows pc. if you can't get anything to show up on it... go to your nearest apple store and ask for a technician to see it. if you sync it to your laptop and it does recognize it, you can scroll to reset everything to factory settings. you may have to load all your music and media back. i hope you have all your stuff backed up. the good news is that you got it for christmas, so it's covered under the warranty. depending on where you buy it you can get double the warranty. I bought mine at costco and have 2 years on it. plug it into the usb charger into your computer and leave it for 5 minutes. if nothing comes on try pressing the home button and the off button at the same time for 15 seconds. that should unlock it. let me know... good luck....
