I recently got a Macbook Air from a Best Buy retail location, because I noticed it was cheaper than directly through Apple. It came in last week and it works perfectly! So yes, Best Buy is a reliable and safe place to get an iPod Touch from, even if it is on sale. I would not really recommend any other retail store to get electronics at.
