How to find someone you've lost contact with?

How to find someone who you lost online contact without looking as a stalker?

• Here it is what happened: I was chatting through facebook and msn with a girl, and we were getting along really well. I live in another country studying, we live in the same country same city when i come for summer vacations (for 4 and a half months). One day she told me that when i return in our country in summer, she wants us to have a date, and i pretended i didn't understand, wanting to make her a surprise later, after i return asking her out and telling her i understood what she meant all along. Until one day, she just erased her facebook, and never logged in, stopped using her msn and all online socialisation. (She did not block me, i checked from other accounts). It was apparent that she wanted to stop digital social life long ago, and she wanted us to meet so we start contacting in real life before she leaves. I was so stupid, i really liked her :(. Anyway, do you have anything to propose of how i could find her again, without being a stalker and creepy? I know her first name, possibly the first 3 letters of her last name (by her msn nickname, possibly), what university she goes in, and common friends in facebook, but i don't want to ask them cause i will appear a stalker. Thoughts?
