Why do girls still don't make the first move?

  • it's 2012...and girls still don't make the first move! Why is this? I thought girls were equal? What was the point of the feminist movement? Please girls, why do you not make the first move? Rejection hurts, and guys have to get rejected like lots before he finds the right girl while a girl will not have to get rejected at all before the find the right guy. thanks!

    Lots of girls seem pretty insecure about themselves and there looks, waiting for a to make a move, can give them security in this, feel like there wanted more. It's doesn't seem to be about equality, it's just wanting to be chased, not chasing after a guys. I guess guys might like that too, but they don't really get that option. - Just one theory.

Some women are nervous, shy, playing hard to get, scared of rejection, traditional etc each person is different but it is still a new idea for a woman to approach a man...it's on the same spectrum as same sex relationships and interracial couples...becoming more common but still new and some ppl are still scared of the idea

girls are equal...we just want guys to seem assertive and strong (in the heart not physically strong) ...but i never make the 1st move cause i want to be sure the guy i like likes me back...guys can be really confusing so i just wait until he does something...im also really shy especially around guys i like..so that doesn't help....yeah i guess i also don't make any move cause im afraid of rejection...but if you have lower self esteem adn lower confidence it sort of lowers that even more.... it depends on the girl why she doesn't make the first move..

I think women are more sensitive than guys. So rejection would hurt more - more embarrassed if anything. I think I've only made the first move a handful of times and they've all worked out for me, I've never been rejected, but it's still really really hard to go there.
