How much should a 12-year-old girl weight?

Teenage Girl's Weight Loss Plan?!?

  • Hey guyss. Okay. So I'm 14 years old, I'm 5'4 and last time I checked I was 127-128 pounds. This has been hard for me to get to that weight because I am recovered (almost :D) anorexic. My recovery has been long and hard and it's still a struggle everyday, but I know I can fight it! Last summer I weighed 150 pounds. I decided to do something about it. So I cut portions, exercised, ate right blah blah blah/ I eventually lost ten pounds, but I just kept cutting out food and carbs and everything till I get down to a weight of 107 pounds. I looked sickly skinny, but it was the only weigh I knew how to get to my goal weight. Now since I lost all my muscle during anorexia, and gained weight back...I'd like to tone up and lose fat the healthy way. Please don't tell me I'm too young. Because this is my goal. I eat a very healthy diet. Lots of good proteins, veggies, fruits, just all the good stuff that everyone should eat! MY EXERCISE SCHEDULE: I just started weight training every other day. I do this in the mid-morning. Then I play Zumba Wii Fitness and I burn off 250 calories with that. Then in the evening, I take a 1 1/2 to 2 mile bike ride and sometimes 4 miles. Then at night I play my Zumba Wii Fitness again and burn off another 250 calories. And I do some ab exercises on a exercise ball. My graduation is on June 8th, and I'd like to lose fat and really tone up by then! Do you think with this exercise schedule I will see results fast and SOON? I'd like a great body BEFORE summer starts too. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANSWER RESPECTFULLY. (: Will I tone up and lose fat before June 8th (see major results?) What did you do to lose fat and tone up fast? Please and thank you. (: respond as soooooon as possible!

  • Answer:

1 Dump the junk. Get rid of all the candy, chips and baked goods that are lurking around in your cupboards and desk drawers. Think of the calories you just saved! 2 Remember that size matters. Using an 8 or 9 inch plate fill ¼ with meat or protein, ¼ with starch, and ½ with veggies. This keeps your portions under control and the smaller plate makes you feel like you have lots of food. 3 Eat more often. Getting 3-5 small balanced meals each day keeps you from getting over hungry and overeating. 4 Think about how you dress—your food that is. Sauces, dressings, mayo--they can add hundreds of calories each day. Cut back and look for low calorie alternatives like mustard instead of mayo, balsamic vinegar instead of salad dressing, low fat mayo. The same goes for fried foods too; opt for baked and broiled instead. 5 Have a plan. Thinking ahead for meals and snacks will keep you from grabbing high calorie goodies when you get hungry. Stock your home and office with low calorie, healthy snacks. 6 Satisfy your sweet tooth with seasonal fruit. 7 Move it. You’ve been waiting for months for the warm weather, so get out there and enjoy it! Take a walk, ride a bike, get a friend to join. Being active burns calories and can help you lose weight faster. Buy an inexpensive pedometer and add more steps everyday. 8 Think about your relationship with food. Do you snack at night or overeat when you get stressed? Look for healthier alternatives than eating out of boredom or stress. 9 Hydrate. Fluids are important any time of year, but especially as it gets warmer outside. Staying well hydrated can also help keep your appetite in check. Aim for 8-10 glasses of fluid each day. 10 Fill up, not out. Fiber doesn’t add calories, but makes you feel full. Avoid the white breads and pastas and focus on high fiber whole grains, fruits and vegetables to keep calories under control
