for pc use can use a program called farps but for xbox you need a capture card

On the PC it's easy. Just get "Fraps" (or a similar screen video capture programme). On a console, it might be more difficult. For standard resolution, a simple capture card would probably be the best choice. But for HD, u will need an interface unit of some type. If u want to record video from the HDMI cable output, u will definitely need a box which strips the HDCP from the HDMI signal. They don't sell these in Canada or United States so u will have to import it from China or another country. It has something to do with copyrights and that bullcrap. The box we use has the HDMI input and various outputs so it can be connected to various devices. The output probably most suited to recording use would be the IEEE 1394 (firewire) output.
