HELP!! can't remember name of movie i remember, anyone?

• so i'm 16 and i remember a movie from when i was like, 7 or 8 but it was made a long time ago...so this is what i remember...there is a kid and he has a mom, dad, and little brother...1 day this kid is walking through a forest and he stumbles on train tracks and goes unconscious and when he wakes up he's in the same place but it's night time...so he walks home and when he goes in his house his family is gone and theres is an old couple living there and they call the police and then he figures out he's not in the right year anymore, he's in the future...the cops ask him what year it is and he says it (i dont remember) and they're confused because the year he tells them is 1 from the past...then later he's in a hospital and they call his family and they come but they're all older, including his little brother who is now an adult, who says something like "it's wierd cuz now im your big little brother"...then i think the kid escapes the hospital and somehow he finds out how he got to the future...he finds an alien thing space ship who tells him that he picked him up off the railroad tracks because he is going from planet to planet studying the dominant species of each planet and that he put him back on the railroad tracks but accidently put him in the wrong year...thats all i remember...i also remember the boy befriending some little creature on the spaceship and at the end he ends up keeping it...PPLLEEEAAASSEEE i didnt make this movie up i know it exists, but i can't remember it's name to save my life..nobody in my family even remembers it because it was so long ago...please i'd like to remember it before i die cuz it's just killing me!!! ANOYONE who knows what i'm talking about and remembers the name of this movie, please please tell me, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

  The movie is called Flight of the Navigator (1986) it was one of my fav movies growing up.
