Writing a reflective essay is not all that difficult. After all, it's about yourself. Think, reflect, on some challenge or problem you've had in your life and how you either overcame it, or didn't. How did that experience influence the way you are, the way you interact with other people, the way you face challenges in your life today. For instance, and this might be really lightweight compared to some stuff you've gone through, Have you ever had a problem with a boyfriend/girlfriend? How has that experience changed how you treat relations with people now. Do you have a physical, emotional, mental problem? How have you dealt with the problem? How do you continue to deal with the problem? If a college or university wants an essay as a part of their application process, it is always a reflective essay. This would be a good chance to learn how to do that with much less at stake. I just thought of another one. The Declaration of Independence says that we have the right to pursue happiness, not a right to happiness, but a right to pursue happiness. What is your responsibility in this pursuit? How much do you push off onto other people? You know, "this is boring and it's all your fault." Or, "I would be a lot happier if you would just . . ." instead of "I would be a lot happier if I would just . . ." I know that coming up with a topic is the hardest part of essay writing. I hope I've given you a jumping off place. Good luck.
