What is the name of longest highway in the world?

Why is it so bad when the idea of "Apologizing to the rest of the world" is brought up?

  • Why shouldn't we apologize to the rest of the world? We've been the dictators of the world for a long time, bombing millions of innocent civilians in the middle east, propping up dictators via foreign aid, I mean, to call our current foreign policy sustainable and creating peace is just pure hogwash. Look at the shape our country is in today as a result of our entitlement system, warfare and monetary system. Isn't it time to be the better person, own up to our mistakes and admit the policies of this country are deeply flawed? People seem to think were a stronger nation by acting tough, dropping bombs and looking down upon everyone. However there's a name for those kind of people: We call them bullies and they don't do a damn thing to advance themselves in life other than boost their own ego. I think a strong nation admits when it's wrong and has the courage to apologize when it makes a mistake rather than glossing over it. I think a strong nation promotes peace around the world through talking to people, trading with other countries and only going to war with the consent of congress and the American people. This mentality of a foreign policy based on "Our way or the highway" needs to end. It's bankrupting this country and it creates more enemies. There's a reason why they preach death to America on their streets, believe me. If MY country invaded your hometown in order to stop a so called "Terorrist" threat and bombed and killed your entire family as the result of a casulty, wouldn't you be furious? What if my countires invasion only escalated the violence already existing in your hometown? What if the reason we went in "Promoting democracy and stopping terror" became clear to your country that the only reason we were invading was because of your resources. Now what if more people near and dear to your heart continued to die around you as my country dropped bombs on the wrong people. Now imagine the riots on the streets, say were Russia. Death to Russia! you would shout burning our flag. You would want to kill our troops would you not?! You would protest our invasion because we went in their to promote peace and stop terror but instead we made things worse.

And if my people rammed planes into your cities, killing your family and friends, before you went after them.. would you laugh as much at me if I said you were the aggressor as we're laughing at you now? These people attacked us.. we're supposed to apologize to them for it? There's a reason why we don't like them them.. and that reason predates their reason for not liking us. Go preach at them for a while.

While your treatise is admirable--- The meme that the President "apologizes to the world," or has gone on "apology tours around the world" is absolutely ridiculous. No one can point to any apology the President has made, other than in relation to specific actions such as the killings or the stupid Koran burnings; and that was for the safety of US troops.

All governments do what they want no matter what the people believe in, so as long as the government apologizes for it's own actions and not the people's I'm okay with apologies. Just don't apologize for me, the governments actions are not mine.

Their Constitution rules them
