Why is nursing school so hard to get into?

When there are a lot of stupid nurses out there? My friend is a nurse and he thinks a rhinoceros is a dinosaur. Another friend of mine is a nurse and doesn't understand that sunlight can cause skin cancer. She thinks that the Sun can't damage DNA because it is too small for the sun rays to get them. This other girl I know is a nurse but thinks 60 mph in a truck is slower than 60 mph in a car. Should GPA really be a determining factor for nursing school, because a lot of people can do good in school, yet still be a complete dum**ss in reality. Maybe we should throw out GPA and base acceptance in nursing school solely on an IQ test.

At my school, 900 applied and 170 got in, they based it on ACT scores and GPA. I had to have a 3.5 gpa and a 22 on the ACT to get in.

Going to nursing school isn't the only way to become a nurse. You go to a CC for 2 years & be a certified nurse or you can major in nursing & to a BSN to RN program.
