Can taking birth control make you moody?

  • I've been taking alesse birth control pills for about 6 months now and thinking back, i realized i have been alot moodier since first starting birth control. i find myself to just get really sad randomly and really depressed and just not like my normal self. am i just being paranoid or can the pill make you act different/ sadder?

    Nope. Not being paranoid. I know that when I was on Nuvaring, I was crying for no reason - and I don't cry. Tricyclin, the same thing. It was until I was on Marvelon, that I became normal again. The Pill can make you moody; talk with your doctor about changing to a different brand. Sometimes, it takes several months of trial and error to find the right combination for you.
