ADVICE: Finishing High school in Germany?
-
I spent my freshman year of high school in Germany to re-learn German (at a boarding school), and it was incredible. Now I'm finishing up my Junior year in the USA (Florida), at an arts school as a band major which I have lost ALL interent or like for, and am debating going back to the german school to finish high school there, and possibly study whatever I decide to do there as well. My German is not yet perfect, but that wouldn't be too much of a factor after a while. I'd most likely have to go back and redo the 11th grade since graduation points (Abitur) are accumulated over 11-12th grades. I've constructed a list of pros and cons of either option, but I'm still completely torn and need advice. - Abitur is the equivalent of a bachelors degree (beneficial) + - I'd have 2 more years of school as opposed to one + - The boarding school is a Montessori, and SO MUCH fun + - teachers were generally understanding of my situation + - it's a lot of work and stress - - There goes my childhood... Freshman year I was completely let off my parents' leash, and had to manage everything on my own, including financially (they wired me money), and the school is NOT strict at all, despite boarding school stereotypes... Then i came back and was suddenly told "no, you can't go out Friday because I said so" which sucked. Plus my crazy mom tracks me all the time via phone... Benefits of staying in the USA would be: - easier + - somewhat less expensive (college is much more however) + - I wouldn't NEED a job (I'd have to tutor English and get another job in Germany) + - staying with parents/immediate family + - I have equal friends in both locations So if you'd be so kind as to try to choose and convince me of one of either situations, I might stop freaking out. THANKS

Answer:
I'd wouldn't go back. I would stay because of your family and because its cheaper. I wouldn't go spending anymore money than you should. Stay with your people! I'm not trying to make you do anything, this is just what I would do.

The one major downside of high school in germany for a girl your age is youll need to join The League of German Girls. Expect to do a lot of singing and marching. After graduation youll be expected to have 8-10 children to populate the Fatherland.
