You need to score ridiculously high on your SAT (like 2300) and have a near perfect GPA while taking as many AP or accelerated classes as your school offers. We're talking 4.5 gpa and top 5 in your graduating class (or higher if your school is really small). You also need to be very involved in extracurricular activities. Aim for being president of the student government at your grade level and then overall president senior year. For certain majors, research is another nice thing to put on an application. A friend of mine who wen to to Cornelle used to volunteer at the local hospital and also did some research work at the hospital. Thats on top of having a 4.3 gpa, great sat scores, and other extracurricular stuff. Oh and you need to be rich. That definitely helps since it costs like 40,000 or more a year. That mans you'd be probably close to 200,000 in debt after graduating. It pays off if you choose a good major and land a good job. If you go to an ivy league school and pay that much to major in literature then you're just screwed.

Everyone applying to Harvard has the highest GPA in the hardest classes and very high test scores, and Harvard turns 94% of those people down. It takes a lot more to get in. Nothing you said here would make you stand out for a top school, and you didn't mention a good reason to attend Harvard. Most applicants don't have one.

Hi, im a senior. A hundred average? No. you sound great so far! DONT FALL BEHIND! Getting a good GPA is really easy if you try. Dont give up on your dreams, but stay focused. Besides from that having a personality is also important. That's what all thoose universitys want. Also consider regular schools, theyre great too. Btw I think you should consider joining drama club! Its a great club and schools love thearter students ;) Start researching NOW! so you have 4 years to plan! (essays, money, diffrent choices, ect) Take AP or honors classes (better for your gpa And colleges love it, so avoid taking too many regular classes) Talk to your guidance counselor! So pretty much, you have a HUGE chance of getting in. as a freshman you have a clean record, and all the chanes to make it to any university you want! Goodluck (:
