Homework help!!! need a good and clear thesis statement! ?

I'm doing an essay on eating disorders for sociology, the thesis statement has to show a relationship between eating disorders and socialization. I was think something like "Media may not cause eating disorders, but they are a major influence and do not help people with eating disorders" this is weak to me though. So I'd appreciate if someone could help me create a better one!

--Eating disorders is the individuals own consequence.--- I think that its the own persons fault for being weak letting the media influence them.Now that's an arguable thesis!

not real sure what role the media is going to play in your paper...however it does not appear that "media" is relevant in this statement...meaing that if you plan on doing the paper on eating disorder and socializtion the the word socialization should be in the thesis statement. hope this helps...if you like i can look at a revision good luck!
