How much can you make with a master's degree in electrical engineering?

I need help and advice with choosing a major to finish my associates degree in psych or electrical engineering?

  • I'm a 28yr old (just turned 28) black male and I have alot of confusion with choosing my major. To make a long story short, I started community college back in 2009 as a part time student. I scored high in my reading and english placement test, but scored low in math. I took 2 more semesters part time and one full time semester in spring 2011. I ended up with a 3.675 gpa I had some set backs and i'm ready to go back to school to finish in the fall. Even though i scored low in math, when it came down to learning algebra I did good with a B+. I'm still two semesters away from being in college math. When i first went to college i wanted to be an Electrical Engineer until the advisors told me that it was going to take me longer to get an associates degree in Electrical Engineering because my math score was low. So i picked psychology and really loved it, but I found out that you have to have a masters degree to make any money and i'm too smart to not make any money and waste my intelligence. I'm half way through getting an associates degree in psychology, but i still have time to change my major to Electrical Engineering. I have one more year if I go to school full time to get my associates degree in psychology and two and a half years to get my associates degree in Electrical Engineering. I can only take one math class per semester and i when i spoke to the engineer director at UMass he told me that i would have to graduate with atleast a 3.2 gpa to get a job when i'm done. I'm so confused and i also have major depression disorder with generalized anxiety. What should i do????????? I also have a trade school certificate to be an entry level electrical apprentice, but i want a college degree because i had a hard time finding work under a licensed electrician. Plus, getting a degree seems more promising. Oh, i go to Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, MA.
