How can I get accepted to University of Oxford?

  • I live in NY and I really want to get away from here and I would LOVE my life if I got accepted to Oxford but I'm not sure if I could. Sooo here's my story I came to America in the middle of 6th grade and in 8th grade I was in the honors class and in high school I was accepted in the honors program so I take all honors classes and I'm a junior now. I also take AP US History and I'm in the soccer and Track team. Senior year I will be taking Pre. Clac. , AP European History , AP English and Latin if it's important. I'll still be in those two teams and I will join a club. Also, for 2 summers I went to a summer program at a college. Is this good enough for now? ):

Generally, if you are in the UK, Oxford requires 4 A or A* grade A levels for entry. They also more often than not require you to have attended a grammar school (although that's technically illegal so they don't advertise that fact). Coming from the USA your best bet is to have straight A grades from college. Latin is not a requirement but it will help. You will also need a lot of financial backing, a degree course at Oxford costs £9000+ a year (roughly $45,000 for the whole course). You would likely have better luck getting into one of the similarly prestigious universities in the USA (Harvard is regarded as the USA equivalent to Oxford).
