What are my chances of getting into the following NY schools?

What are my chances of getting into these schools?

  • I'm a junior at a public high school with around 3400 people. I'm going to apply to the following schools next year and hope that any of you can tell me which ones I have a good/poor chance of getting into: USC, UCLA, University of Illinois Urbana, Washington University St. Louis, Northwestern, Duke, University of Chicago, NYU, Brown, Yale, and Stanford. I plan on studying Pre-Med and Piano Performance. These are some of my accolades: -I have a GPA in only the top quarter of my grade (probably my worst quality; however, my gpa has improved every year of high school and in my junior and senior year were in the top 10% in my grade) -Every class I've taken that was available in AP or Honors I took (2 APs Junior Year, 4 APs Senior, and every other class is Honors) -I scored a 34 on my ACT -I've been on the National Honors Society for all 4 years -I speak 4 languages (English, Spanish, French, Polish) due to my multinational background + I have been taking Latin in every year of high school -I will have been in the following for all 4 years of school: Israeli Club, Latin Club, Community Service Club, Best Buddies (I hang out with a mentally disabled kid a few days out of the month) -----these I did for 2 years of high school: Amnesty International (was cancelled by school). Mock Trial, Graphics Club, Ultimate Frisbee Club, Peer Jury, and Ambassadors Club -I worked in crew on a entirely-student-created play -I have been on the school newspaper for 3 years and will be an editor my senior year (an esteemed position) -I was published by the National American Library of Poetry in a book named "Acclaimed" -My senior year, I worked as an assistant to gym teachers during my gym period for when they taught freshmen and sophomores. -I have done four separate medical internships in hospitals in my area -I have done two business internships (including one in France) -I have been playing classical piano for 12 years -I have had a short story I've written performed by Northwestern Theater students -I've won a total of 8 different writing/art contests within my school -I've participated in four piano concerts -I've taken 4 years of history, english, language, math, and science -Also if it helps, my Mom went to Medical School at University of Chicago; my entire family is from Europe and I am the first generation to be born in the United States on both sides of my family Thanks for your answers!

  • Answer:

I am not an admissions office person at a university so I can not guarantee whether they will accept you or not, but to me despite your gpa you sound like a great candidate. You demonstrate high involvement which is what most universities are looking for. Make sure you write a great personal statement and good look with the whole process. Don't miss deadlines :)
