How to add music to the videos I make?

How do you get music on Windows Movie Maker?

  • I have tried before to make videos for my YouTube account, but every time I try to add music from my iTunes folder, it comes up with a message saying "File could not be imported." I think this is because the file is not the right format (It's an mp4 instead of mp3 or whatever) but apart from that I have no idea. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated, thankyou. :)

  • Answer:

Windows Movie Maker only takes .wma (Windows Media Audio) files. Try converting them in some way. I have software called FormatFactory, but you could try online converters. Don't worry, I had the same trouble when I started using WMM for YouTube vids on my own account. :)

if your music is purchased from itunes, maybe it's copyright protected, so you have to remove the protected from the music file, then try again. but if your music isn't copyright protected, but still failed on windows movie maker, maybe your music file is incompatible for windows movie maker, you can convert the music file to wma or mp3 file, then try again, or directly use another movie maker software to help you, like I usually use Youtube Movie Maker, it supports any format video or music files well, it can be used to edit/make and upload youtube videos from various videos, pics, musics, texts, etc. better than Windows Movie Maker for youtube video creation. You can download it from makeyoutubevideo.com, and view below channel for some online guides, youtube.com/easymakevideo, hope it can help you too.
