What would be a positive arthritis treatment and medications for shoulder pain?

What discomfort would be expected if Arthritis was starting in the hips.?

  • If I sit down for even for a short space of time, I become very stiff in the very lower back and top upper legs at the back. I have no pain in the hip joint although lifting my legs seems to becoming more an effort. When I get moving, I have no problems..The nurse at my G P's has referred me for physio, because she feels that I still have a trapped nerve in the back. I was a passenger in a van that was hit on my side quite hard a year ago and have been having various treatment for a pain that migrated from my right shoulder to my lower back and left hip. My Doctor casually mentioned arthritis in the hips from x rays I had taken but wasn't concerned. Until the accident I was a considered a young 58. I haven't'quite been the same since. I have my doubts it's a trapped nerve. I'm not in pain, just very stiff and a bit achy after a short sit down. Sorry it is a long winded question. Thanks for any replies

GOING BY YOUR AGE ,arthritis is probably your problem going by what you say,the best thing to do ,i find ,is not to sit for more than half an hour then get up and walk about for half an hour or so ,to prevent the muscles from stiffening up ,the longer you sit the worse things get, youve got to keep mobile, i got this info from therapists who where treating me for osteo arhtritis of of the spine, it can be a pain having to move when when your muscles are all sore and stiff and aching, good luck to you ,i know what you are going through ,i have suffered with this since 1974.and now 65 yr old,i had a workmate who was the same as my self healthwise and he sat all the time and got others to run after him, he lost the power of his legs, and ended using a wheelchair, then he lost both legs due to gangrene because he just would not try to walk and keep mobile, he is now dead through having a heart attack, which could have been prevented if he had kept himself mobile,

I would recommend a regimen of daily walking and stretching beforehand. be gentle with yourself and consistently be on the move...this will be the kindest mode of operation for your early signs of arthritis.

If we x-rayed every Human on the planet over the age of 30, we would locate Arthritis. That is why you seldom see Olympians at The Olympics over the age of 30! At 58 good chance you have 'mild' arthritic changes in your hips. However this is not causing pain. 12 months on from a car accident, you were hit side on, so a lot of 'soft tissue' damage. Keep going to physio and give it at least 18 months before things settle down.
