Running the tank, or dish washing is just a way for the manage to make efficient use of his cooks and kitchen staff. No, you do not want to be a server if you can not pick up the cook work fast enough. Mess up out on the dinning room floor and it is a fast ticket out the door. Let your boss know you want to cook and that you will try harder and that you learn slowly but make up for it in the final. It is always rude for fellow employees to talk about who is getting fired as they probably do not know anything. If a manager talks about firing people in front of others, then that is a bad manager and you should find another job.
