Can you get caught for downloading a part of a movie?

One other thing, I was under the impression that the part that gets you sued is the uploading & redistributing it to other people. The way I saw the last lawsuit is that if your allowing people to upload from you & 100 people get it from you at a cost of $20 bucks each that's a $2,000 lawsuit (plus legal expense) since that's $2k that you potentially took out of their pocket. Do you mean is it illegal to get caught for downloading part of a movie, right...? Paid proxy means your dumb enough to pay for it. What ever you do online you can get caught, every server your connect passes through leaves a log somewhere. So yes.... Will you get caught... I don't know. Why don't you try this... in stead of downloading part of a movies go through all your secured proxies and vpn's and join an Al Kida site and see if your on the "no fly zone" come next week. And that's absolutely right about piracy... its the distributing that's the crime not the watching. But they could shut down the website and fine them due to piracy laws.
