Can I file an extension for unemployment? ?

  • I've been on unemployment for three weeks now in the state of Michigan and the state already cut back unemployment back from 26 weeks to 20 weeks and my friends tell me there is no extensions left to file for. Is this true? I thought there is one extension left that is for sixteen more weeks but I'm not sure. Please help.

Why not ask the unemployment office in your town? They would be more up to date on information than a lot of YA folks.

So you've decided that you're not even going to care about finding a job. 17 weeks is more than enough time for a non-lazy person who isn't a leech to find some sort of job. You obviously only care about staying on unemployment as long as possible instead of just finding a job. You're what's wrong with this country. How about you look for a job instead of worrying about extensions that don't even apply to you for almost half a year?
