How do the poor benefit from universal health care?

Do other Democrats feel Republicans have no clue as to how Obama's health care reform will benefit the U.S.?

  • I don't think they have a clue what his plan is really all about, other than the lies they're fed by Fox and their hateful politicians. Why anyone would be against: Insurance companies denying coverage to those with pre-existing conditions. Grown children being allowed to stay on their parent's health plan to age 26, or until they are settled with their own insurance. Insurance companies will not be allowed to place a cap on coverage dollar amounts. Will allow the uninsured to purchase a government health plan at a low cost, insuring hundred's of thousands people. The list goes on and on. What is their problem?

    Conservatism by definition is about reactionaries.. They react. They hate the President's Bill because it is Progressive and they have NOTHING to put forward to the American people.

SERIOUSLY/?? SERIOUSLY?? You think those are good things????? If insurance companies can't deny pre existing conditions then why would a person even bother to get insurance until they were sick. You can't get car insurance to pay your damages after you have an accident. If everyone just gets insurance after they are sick then insurance rates will skyrocket for everyone. 26 is not a grown child it is an adult. You don't see anything wrong with an adult living on his/her parents insurance? No cap on benefits...that means that there is no way to limit risk...again you buy coverage for auto insurance with limits. Why not medical insurance. No cap means that everyone pays a higher rate...ever those who don't use the benefits. A government plan means taxpayer subsidized..meaning that I and other hard working Americans pay for their insurance rather than pay for things for my own family. Everything you have listed is an example of why the plan is a disaster

Oh, I'm sure you've read all 2700 pages. I'm on page 1,437 for your information. Let's see, the Constitution was 4 pages (on A4 paper) and this constitutionally void garbage law is over 2700 pages. There were more health concerns and injuries per capita when our constitution was ratified than there is today, but they chose not to include anything about health care in the constitution. But you're right, our Founding Fathers were wrong and you're smarter than they were. Also, whether or not something seems to be good doesn't mean it is, and doesn't mean that it fits within the type of government that we are supposed to have and hold.
