Provisional license to regular license in CA q?

Can i drive my younger brother with a parent in the car if ihave my ca provisional license?

  • I got my California driver's permit in November, so I can get my license in may when I turn 18. The problem is I haven't had very much practice because my mom and I aren't clear on this. Since I have my permit, can I legally drive my 8 year old brother with my mom in the car? That's the only way id be able to practice because the only time my brother isn't with us is when my mom goes out of town for work, so its kind of a problem. Please help me with this!!

When you have your permit, as long as their is an adult in the passenger's seat, it doesn't matter who else is in the car with you. At least that is how it is in Virginia anyways.
