How to reset mysql password without old password?

How do I reset my MySQL password for Windows 7?

• How do I reset my MySQL password so that I cal fully install Joomla? I'm stuck on the 4th step of the installation process. When I click "Next" it gives me an error that says, "Could not connect to the database. Connector returned number: 2." I've already installed MySQL, so I assumed that the reason that I have this error is because I put in the wrong password. Should I use the Command Prompt to make these changes? Because if I do, I'm having a hard time making commands. Here is where I'm at in the command prompt: C:\Users\MyName> I tried the following command: service mysql stop But it gave me this error: 'service' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file. What should I do?
