How do you get a Youtube username?

  • I have used Youtube for several years, but it changed and now I have no idea how to use it. I want a new Youtube account but when I click sign up it trys to sign me up with Google and Gmail even though I have a Yahoomail. I signed up with it anyway and put my real name (first and last) and then I put the username I wanted for Youtube in the spot where it said Google username and @gmail. When it was done it said my username was my real name that I put in the first slot. I do not want that! How do I get a YOUTUBE USERNAME and not a Google one?????

    YouTube is now part of the Google network. To get a YouTube username you have to sign up for a Google account. The easiest way to do that is to get a Gmail account (it's a much better e-mail service than Yahoo). You cannot get a YouTube username without a Google username; they are the same thing.
