What are some important history dates about the PC?

I got a job, but the background check shows I lied on my employment history dates. What should I do now?

  • I know that I shouldn't have lied, it wasn't on purpose. I couldn't remember the exact dates so I just put down what I thought it was. What should I say if I am asked why my dates are different from the actual dates? 1 job has a 90 day difference and the other has over 300 day difference. Positive answers please.. I already know I should have been more exact.

  • Answer:

Just say it was an honest mistake. Since they already hired you, I doubt this will come up.

The 90 day difference might not have mattered a lot. But 300+ days? Because you "couldn't remember the exact dates"? If you worked there 16 years and your guess showed 17, might not matter. But if it was the difference between 1 year and almost 2, start looking for another job, you aren't likely to keep this one.
