Does anyone know any good craft/hobby forums out there?

Does anyone know other forums where free speech isnt blocked by Open uni abusing it?

  • Does anyone know other forums where free speech isnt blocked by OU abusing it? Is open university fire staff? i heard a rumor they let people go all the time...is it?Does anyone know other forums where free speech isnt blocked by OU abusing it? Is the open university keeping staff or stuffing them over? Is open university genuinely hiring? iwas in agroup that mostly disappeared but wanted to stay in contact to find they are gone straight away...ie in a week....sales that is... I am checking if they are really hiring people weekly as they say they take in 30 people a week but they don't have that many staff there.... Is it a scam? I am wondering if when on probation you find out you are not working there any more and they keep saying that they let people go for KPI's but I am not sure if its true. If a company has a weekly intake in sales calls staff should I be worried or not? It seems to good to be true for me? I have tried to ask this before but it gets taken down by them, but when I look at queries about them there about 2000 all to do with courses. When i have had this question up it disappears almost straight away. should i be worried if they hire weekly then let people go and where do these people go and are they paid? usually call centre are kept on a few months unless I am not seeing something? i heard they let people go without warning. But they have a 'weekly intake' in which case why bother letting people go? OE staff don't need to answer this...'This is absolutely not true. They may be reorganizing and there may be temporarily staff in place but there is no deliberate plan to let staff go every fortnight.' FREE SPEECH MEANS PEOPLE IN A COMMUNITY CAN GENUINELY ASK AND GET ANSWERS, NOT MANIPULATE THIS FORUM TO TAKE DOWN QUESTIONS AND USE IT AS A MARKETING TOOL INSTEAD SO THE FIRST 50 OE ASKS ARE ALL ABOUT POSITIVE SPIN. It means people are free to ask and answer, and clearly a staff member wrote this. If its not true then you wouldn't 'fire' people after a week, if the job is still available next week YOU WOULDNT ADVERTISE FOR PEOPLE. STOP TAKING DOWN PEOPLES ANSWERS SO THE COMMUNITY CANNOT BE OBJECTIVE OR ASK VALID QUESTIONS... Anyone genuinely hiring for the long term doesnt have 'temp staff' and its false advertising otherwise to present a role as long term if its not. No one hires unless they are ready, and a 'revolving door' doesnt mean you get to then jump on forums to block answers either. Does anyone know other forums where free speech isnt blocked by OE abusing it? I noticed whenever I asked a Q even though I got answers from people with similiar exp the Q would be gone the next day..so clearly they are now going online instead to tamper with answers. Conflict of interest! I think this is odd as its referring to one in BRITAIN and I am referring to one in ASIA. I find this concerning they go online and virtually admit that they are deleting questions and its not even about them....its no wonder the currency is different each time someone answers....I do think its implied legal harassment and its not even their institution so AS AN INSTITUTION THEY SHOULD NOT BE REMOVING PEOPLES QUESTIONS when I WAS AFTER ANSWERS and ITS NOT REGARDING THEM...I looked up the link and its a WHOLE OTHER INSTITUTION and its also based on EXERIENCE which is not defamatory at all SO THEIR LEGAL ACTION WOULD FAIL that and its not even them..unfortunate though. Get a clue, there is more then ONE institution of this name and its NOT IN ENGLAND HOW STUPID! Go and take legal action then...but you might find that its baseless AS 1. Its true and 2. Its not you. Typical sheltered english working class.take a look around the world! there is more then one!

  • Answer:

Free Speech = Legal protection from illegal government censorship. That's it. That's all. Nothing else. Look it up. Open University isn't the government. Like any private forum, OU decides its own terms of use and enforces same. If you're not familiar with those terms of use, here they are: Link - http://www8.open.ac.uk/about/main/admin-and-governance/policies-and-statements/conditions-use-open-university-websites
