Java Moss is extremely easy. Just toss it into your tank in a corner with some light source on it. It will just grow. Although it does like high light even though it can survive in low light. I bought a fist sized java moss less than two years ago and now I have several basket ball sized java moss. How fast it grow is largely depended on how strong the light is, and how much nitrate you have in the water. If you get Java Moss, your guppy fry will have a much higher survive rate even with adult fish around. You should not use natural light. In fact all fish tanks should be avoided being placed near a window where it can receive direct sunlight or strong daylight. You will have an algae boom in no time. Plants don't like that either, because algae will block lights to the plants and thus eventually kill them. You need to buy aquarium lights. Look at 2w per gallon minimal.

Java moss is the most simple plant you can grow. Put it in the tank, make sure you have some sort of 1/2 decent light, and wait. It will grow. It's not a fast growing plant, but it's relentless and will eventually fill the tank if you leave it alone. When the clump gets too big, just pull some off and give / throw it away. Ian
