Best Tattoo Places in DC Area?

  • I'm a college-age girl looking for a top-notch tattoo place in the DC area (I live on Foggy Bottom, but anywhere in the DC area is fine). I'm looking to get a celtic-inspired tattoo of a tree on my ribcage (probably about 5-7 inches) in just black ink. Anyone who's had good experiences/artists in the area, please share! Or if you know any particularly good artists, possibly who are known for black and white work or celtic work, that would be great!

Quite a few are from out of town, but a great deal are local, the convention comes around every year, and gives you the leeway to walk through just about every 'shop' in a day, looking at portfolios and collecting cards from shops you're interested in looking into further. Or you can click on their shop links and find online portfolios to those that are closer in location to DC and share and compare that way.
