Driving permit in Illinois?

Illinois Driving Permit question...?

  • So i turned 15 in January and im in my freshmen year. i want to go to a driving school OUT of school so when im 16 i can get my license and not wait till im at least 17. so my question is if I do a driving school, do i HAVE to do the driving portion to get my permit or can i just do the class portion of the school? because if I only have to do the class portion whats the point of even doing the driving part? i thought i had another question but i guess i dont remember. anyway, if you have any information or want to tell me anything extra that i missed out anything is appreciated (:

I think if you don't do the driving portion within 60 days or something you get your permit taken away, but I'm not positive.
