List of legit acting agencies?

I signed up with explore talent acting agency. Does anyone know if they are legit ? ?

  • Answer:

They're not an agency at all - just another useless website. The only way to get an agent is after you've had many years of training and experience. Then you get a list from any actors' union publication and apply. It can take years to find a genuine, good agent. Good luck!

If THEY get YOU work, they're legit. If YOU give THEM money, they aren't. Which is it?

Explore Talent is NOT an agency. They are a website that you have to pay to find out about casting calls. Many of the same casting calls and more can be found for free on Alan Baltes' various blogs including http://www.filmtelevisionauditions.com/ http://www.acting-auditions.org/ http://www.featurefilmauditions.com/ http://www.open-casting-calls.info/ (don't bother clicking on any of the banner ads or sponsored links on these sites-- they take you to paid sites charging money to get most of the same casting calls found for free on the blogs) or on actorsaccess.com which is free to register and only $2 to submit for a role or $68 for an annual subscription giving unlimited submissions. $68/year is cheaper than 2 months of Explore Talent If you are looking for an actual agency, look on the SAG and AFTRA websites for agencies near you http://www.aftra.org/1098020CF8E64E9E8017CFA4DDC56BE0.htm http://www.sag.org/content/find-agent A legitimate agency will NEVER charge you anything out of pocket and only makes money after they book you on a job and takes their commission
