What amp to buy for car?

  • Okay guys. I'm getting a bit frustrated as I'm trying to decide which amp to purchase for my car audio system (previous amp broke). I currently have 1 Sony XPLOD 475 RMS (1200 peak) subwoofer. I was told to buy an amp that has the closest RMS wattage as my subwoofer... Now, being on a budget, I don't plan on buying a 500 dollar Kicker Performance Amp. I want something within the 100-200 range. Particularly near 130-150 Now As im researching amps on Amazon, I can hardly find any amps that put out even 450 rms for 2 channels at 4 ohms. Well you might be asking why do you need an amp that will put out 2 channels @ 450 rms, well I plan to buy another xplod. So my question is, what do you reccomend?

    You only need a mono block amp. Most of them have 2 speaker outputs, but its still considered a mono block. And you can find a 1000w amp for pretty cheap these days.
