What does it take to get a CDA?

I'm intrested in furthering my Education for Childcare. Should I get my CDA or Associate Degree?

  • I'm 26 and never furthered my education past highschool. Although I haven't worked in a few years, Teaching at Daycares has been my only career. I love careing for young children and plan to get back to teaching soon. I also want to consider getting a certificate or degree when I go back to teaching. I have looked into getting my CDA (Childhood Development Associate Certificate) but really want to take it a step further and work on an associates degree online. Can anyone suggest what degree I should look into? What about online Colleges? There are so many to choose from I get overwhelmed quick! Any idea how long it will take to get an associate degree in early childhood online? What about price? Thanks to anyone who has ANY advice!!

    Don't try this online! Online programs are not accepted because the student may have cheated by hiring an impostor to take the courses. As a result,ANY online program is considered questionable-even if from a legit school. Child care should require some hands on schooling too, which cannot be done online. You should visit a public community college to sit down with an adviser and talk about your goals. a public community college will offer legit courses that will be far more respected than any for profit school or any online school. It will also offer a greater educational value.
