How long does it take to study for the SATs?

Skip A levels and take SAT instead?

  • I'm a JC1 student in Singapore, preparing to take the A levels next year. I'm wondering if it is fine to skip the A levels and just take SAT, as I'm not really keen to study in the UK. Which countries accept SAT? I would appreciate it if someone could guide me in this as I'm quite lost. It is as if A levels is useless for me as few schools in the States accept A levels as their entry requirements, and even if they did, I will still have to take SATs. So is it a waste of time, 2 years to be exact, if I take the A levels, and at the same time SAT? I find JC life quite demanding and I don't have any extra time to study for the SAT at all. So what if I quit school and study for the SAT at home, take the test and apply for university? I need help! Really thank the person who could help me in this matter. :D

Uhh, I really doubt that's a wise idea. It's much better to have your country's required pre-U qualifications PLUS the SATs. Not just the SATs. SATs are definitely not worth staying at home and studying for; most of my friends just spend over a month doing practice questions before going for the SATs. They're not that hard. And no, O-levels do not help in overseas university admissions. Please continue on your path to A-levels and take your SATs as well. Good luck! :))

For US universities. You must have your A levels and the SAT to apply. You shouldn't have to study for months for the SAT. get some SAT study guide books from amazon.com You can go on to any US schools web site to see requirements for international students. You can call or email admissions with any questions

For study in a US college or university, you need to complete high school study in your country, submit your high school transcript, and the SAT score(s) if it is required. Level A courses are for UK, so you do not need to take them if you plan to study in US.
