How much is this camera worth?

Approximatley how much would it cost for me to get the lens shutters fixed on my Camera? Is is worth it?

  • I have a fairly new camera that my mother dropped a year ago. It's such a pretty Casio. The model is a EX-Z1050. She basically dropped it and the little area where the camera opens and close(shutters) and portion of the camera that maneuvers in and out when the camera is turned on...it is damaged. It will not close or move. I would hate to see a good camera thrashed...what can I do with it if repairments are not worth the money???? 1 hour ago - 4 days left to answer. PS THE LENS DID NOT CRACK....ITS PART THAT GOES IN AND OUT PART THAT FKED UP!! ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGH

  • Answer:

It will cost far more than the camera is worth to have it repaired plus its highly unlikely that parts for an older camera like yours are even available. Use it as a paperweight and spend your money on a new camera.

The lens *is* the part that goes in and out. Or at least the moving assembly is what holds the lens elements. That camera model is from 2007, so it is fairly outdated. It almost certainly would cost more to repair than what it is worth. Check at Casio and ask if they charge for an estimate. Otherwise, you can try selling "as-is" on Ebay, or take it apart yourself for fun.

You could use it as a hobby project. You could get it fixed,$150-$200 I'd say. You could recycle it. You could sell it on ebay for parts
