    if you know nothing about photography and exposure, get a bridge camera that you will have manual control over shutter speed, aperture and ISO, such as the Sony HX100V, it's a camera with 16MP and 30x zoom. if you know everything about exposure, get a DSLR, but there is none that is under $300(USD). maybe you can get a NikonD3000 or Canon T3 from e-bay. KEEP IN MIND: CAMERAS UNDER $600 ARE CRAP!!!!
