How can I get a hardship license?

Can I get a hardship license with these reasons?

• I live in California I am 16 and I just got my permit I was wondering if I could get my license( I guess it's called a hardship license) after doing the requirements you need to do to get a license but not waiting for the 6 months. My mother has cancer and I am the only one that lives with her and she will need someone to drive her to get treatments. She also frequently can't drive to run errands ( such as grocery shopping) because she often feels ill. I can easly get a signed physician note from her cancer doctor. Thank you for your help!

  Maybe. Since apparently you're the only one that could porovide transportation for your mother as well as the errands. But it also depends upon where you live in CA. For example, if there is public transportation easily available, you're less likely to get the hardship license. If the hospital has courtesy transportation vans, you're also less likely. But it doesn't hurt to go to the DMV and ask!
