HOW CAN I GET OFF PROBATION EARLY IN WISCONSIN?
-
On May 20th 2011 I was sentenced 2 years probation on a felony charge which was "theft of person"..I have done everything the judge told me to do..write apology letter to victim, attend drug and alchohol counseling sessions and serve 31 days at a half-way house. I'm always up to date on my probation fee's and on may 20th of this year I'll be half way through my sentence and I have been very good..I have matained absolute sobriety I don't drink or do drugs. I pass all my random drug tests I have a full time job I haven't had any police contact since september 6th 2010 and I'm always polite and show respect to my p.o Advice and opinions are greatly appreciated...thank you

Answer:
You can die. You can get incarcerated. Or you can become medically incapacitated. Otherwise, you are not likely to get off probation early - especially if your probation officer knows what you are using as a screen name. Seriously though: Good behavior and compliance with the terms of your probation are expected and required. You are sentenced to two years of this. You don't get to shorten your probationary period simply because you haven't violated your probation yet. You are expected and required to jump through all of those hoops for the entire two year period.

I'm quite late to answer for the OP but the fact is that if you're paid up and in compliance with your probation terms, you can have your PO petition the courts after half of your term is finished. doc.wi.gov/community-resources/faq
